It is very difficult to predict outcomes or completion dates with any real degree of accuracy. Every case is different. I do, however, aim to complete all searches within 3 - 6 months of original registration. If you have not received your report within 4 months of initial registration I will provide you with a complimentary progress report/update. The turnaround time for a preliminary assessment is approximately 4 weeks.

All clients receive an interpretative report complete with a list of sources and documents consulted during the search. You will also receive explanatory notes on some of the source material consulted. Wherever possible, I include maps of where your ancestors lived. Please specify if you wish to receive copies of original documents. Transcripts are ordinarily supplied in order to keep costs to a minimum. Further copies of the report can be purchased.

Again every case is different. I am very familiar with the range of material held within local repositories. These documentary sources include: civil and ecclesiastical registers of births, deaths and marriages, census returns and gravestone inscriptions, school registers, street directories, newspapers, wills and deeds.

The success of the search is partly determined by the quality of information supplied. You can greatly assist me, and your chances of success, by providing as much information as possible about the place of origin of your ancestors (e.g. county, parish and town). I can accept additional information at any time and I may contact you for clarification or further information.
